Spa Water

Regular water. We all should drink more, right? Well, I suggest that you make it much more refreshing to drink. My friend introduced me to this, "Refreshing Water" as I like to call it. She calls it Spa Water. Let me tell you, it looks cool (tangent: once I put it in a vase for a centrepiece one evening in a last minute panic) and it even tastes really healthy!

All you need is: A pretty pitcher (optional, but really, go get one!), tap water (read on), and a lemon, lime, and cucumber.

Wash a lemon and lime and cucumber really well.
Have lemons and limes sliced normally.
Slice the cucumbers on an angle. They look more interesting.

Fill a pretty glass pitcher of water. Put in a couple slices of lemon and lime in the water, and a couple of cucumber slices. 2 of each should be fine. Or if you only have 1 or 2 of those fruits, that's okay too! The other day I had lime water and it was really good! The cucumber is kind of the "secret ingredient." Who would have thought?!! It gives off a really unique refreshingness, and works nicely with the lime.

What I do, is as I drink the water and the level in the pitcher gets lower, I just keep refilling- topping up the water. No need to change it all constantly. Because if you washed the fruits properly you shouldn't get any bad tastes, and the water continues to absorb the unique combination of flavours more strongly.

Tap water vs. Bottled water: If your tap water is drinkable but you aren't a huge fan of that back of mouth taste (ours tastes a little metallic)... this covers it up. Our water is really "good" but I am sensitive to taste. So yeah, dressing it up definitely makes tap water drinkable. I would never spoil bottled water with fruit or veggies.
